Brief excerpt from Samson's Quest...
As Collingwood signalled left into Sandy Lane, he noticed in his mirror, a car was following behind him. He continued down this road for a
further two miles before reaching a set of traffic lights. He signalled to go right. He glanced in the rear view mirror
to notice that the car behind had followed his manoeuvre. Perhaps it was just coincidence, he reasoned. As the
lights turned green, he picked up his speed and came to another crossroads. He went straight on hoping that the
car behind would signal left or right. It didn’t. Collingwood started to feel a sense of panic.
As he came to another cross-roads, he decided to take a right instead of his usual left turn. The car behind
continued to follow him. What’s going on here? Is this just mere coincidence? Collingwood’s agitation grew by the
second. He wondered if this was another false alarm or whether he was becoming delusional. He continued to drive,
not knowing what to do. His mind tried to rationalise everything, but he still felt uneasy. He could not make out how
many people were in the car. As he came to another junction, he randomly opted to go right. As another car
approached the other way, Collingwood was forced to make way as a parked car was obstructing his path. It forced him to slow down. As the
car behind was also forced to manoeuvre left, his mind raced. His calmness and rationale were quashed by a sudden overwhelming sense of
panic...
